The 69th edition of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute Conference took place in Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands) between 7th and 11th November 2016. The focus of the conference was the application of fishers’ knowledge together with marine science to problem-solving in Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) management. The emphasis was on the practical, interdisciplinary, and ecosystem-based approaches, to manage recreational fisheries and MPAs. Wolfs Company, represented by Stijn Schep, was invited to participate in the Technical Session ‘MPAs Science and Management’ to present the results of the study addressing the economic value of expanding MPAs in the Cayman Islands.
